How this wiki tracks patches

After each verified Steam post we refresh this hub and the pages that break — multiplayer for matchmaking/LFG wording, beginner guide for first-session graphics tips, and minigames if Arcade changes how rounds are selected.

What changed in Machine Party v1.5?

v1.5 is the first large post-launch content + engine patch. It celebrates the early sales spike and hardens launch-week graphics complaints.

Areav1.5 changeWhy it matters
ModeArcade — 10 random simulationsFaster sessions without full intro/outro
EngineGodot 4.5.2 upgradeFewer black-screen / hardware rendering issues
LaunchRun normally or Direct3D 12Chooser replaces old launch-option workarounds
BugsStuck in geometry · flashbang ready-up · animationsSmoother lobby → round flow
PolicyMatchmaking ruled outOfficial LFG Discord replaces public lobbies

Sales context (not a patch)

Developers publicly celebrated 500,000 copies sold in the first week alongside the Arcade announcement. That is store news, not a gameplay unlock — trophy lists and the 15-minigame roster stay the same.

How does Arcade mode work?

Arcade is a shorter playlist on top of the same lethal simulations — not a new story mode.

  • Do01Launch Machine Party and pick Arcade when available in the mode select
  • Do02Expect about 10 random minigames instead of a full intro → all-15 pacing
  • Do03Intro and outro segments are stripped for faster back-to-back rounds
  • Do04Betrayal rules and fail conditions still match the minigames guide
  • Do05Achievements remain feat-based — Arcade does not auto-grant trophies

When to use Arcade vs Original

Use Arcade when your group has 20–30 minutes and already knows the rules. Use a full session when chasing specific achievements that need particular minigames or when teaching a new player with beginner guide pacing.

Black screen / D3D12 launch chooser

Launch-week black screens and blank renders were a top complaint. v1.5 replaces ad-hoc Steam launch options with an in-game / startup chooser.

  • Do01Verify game files on Steam after updating to v1.5+
  • Do02Choose run normally on the startup chooser
  • Do03If the screen stays black or garbled, relaunch and pick Direct3D 12
  • Do04Still broken? Report GPU model + steps on Steam discussions or Discord — mid-session black screens may still occur

What changed in Machine Party v2.0?

v2.0 (August 12, 2026) is the couch co-op drop — official Steam news, not a rumor. Follow-ups v2.1.1 and v2.1.2 polish Local lobbies.

How to start couch co-op

Connect pads → Local → pick a mode → press any button on each extra controller to join. Full join rules stay on multiplayer.

What is still coming?

Couch co-op shipped. Remaining official “not coming” items are unchanged.

Machine Party updates FAQ

What is the latest Machine Party update?

v2.1.2 (August 14, 2026) after v2.0 couch co-op (August 12) and v2.1.1 (August 13). v1.5 Arcade / Godot 4.5.2 / D3D12 chooser remain in the live build.

Does Arcade add new minigames?

No — it reshuffles the existing simulations into a shorter 10-round playlist. Rules stay on the minigames guide.

Is local co-op out yet?

Yes — v2.0 (August 12, 2026). Open Local in the menu, pick Original / Custom / Arcade, and join with extra controllers. Online room codes still work for remote groups.

Will matchmaking be added?

No — developers said they are unable to support in-game matchmaking. Use the Discord / LFG page.
